Debra Resnick, Psy.D., obtained her B.A. in Psychology from McGill
University in Montreal, Canada. She obtained her M.A. in Psychology from
Temple University and her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from Hahnemann
University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1986.
Dr. Debra Resnick has been conducting psychological testing and assessment
with in-patients at psychiatric facilities since 1986. She has been on staff at
Hahnemann University Hospital immediately following her Psy.D., where she
remained until 1989. She has been in out-patient practice since that time, working
with a wide variety of ages and psychological conditions including anxiety and
mood disorders.
Since 1998 Dr. Debra Resnick has developed an interest and has trained in the
practice of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a comprehensive and evidence-
based approach pioneered by Dr. Marsha Linehan designed to treat complex
personality disorders, including Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). She is
intensively trained in DBT and has been actively practicing, teaching and
consulting in this area.
Dr. Debra Resnick has given numerous professional talks on assessment and
DBT to a variety of audiences, both professional and community-based. She also
supervises doctoral psychology students and consults on DBT and related clinical
topics.
